News of the execution of Mr. Ali Bak Kuchaki was published in the Jomhuri-Eslami newspaper on February 13, 2001.

Arrest and detention

According to the report, Mr. Kuchaki was identified and arrested by agents of the security forces shortly after he had committed the crime and fled. The circumstances of his arrest and detention are not known.

The Kabudarahang Courthouse tried Mr. Kuchaki. No information is available on his trial.

Charges

The charge brought against Mr. Kuchaki was announced as “murder.” According to the report, in order to obtain some financial documents, he had gone to the Education Office in Kabudarahang on September 2, 2000 at midnight where he confronted an election official and the janitor and murdered them both.
