News of the execution of Mr. Sa’id Ma’sumi, along with three others, was published in Iran and Ettela’at newspapers on June 20, 2002. 

Arrest and detention

The circumstances of Mr. Ma’sumi’s arrest and detention are not known.

Branch 1601 of the Criminal Court of Tehran tried Mr. Ma’sumi. No information is available on his trial.

Charges

The charge brought against Mr. Ma’sumi was announced as “murder”. According to reports, he murdered an elderly man in collaboration with another person in the year 2000.
