The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 43/24, in which the Council requested the Special Rapporteur to report to the General Assembly on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran at its seventy-fifth session. The report contains information collected up to 24 June 2020, including from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, non-governmental and media organizations and individual interviews with victims of human rights violations, their families and lawyers. The report also draws on the relevant observations of the human rights treaty bodies, the Human Rights Council universal periodic review mechanism and its special procedure mandate holders.
